OVUM Fertility Matters is an IVF clinic and is located in Athens in Greece. It was opened in 2015 and is a private fertility clinic. In 2016 it undertook 150 treatment cycles of which 75% were donor egg cycles. This would indicate that the team is very experienced with this particular fertility treatment. It is located within a maternity hospital and there are two laboratories, two theatres, and one ensuite recovery room. The Medical Director is Dr Anastasios Sykoutris who qualified in medicine in 1994. He has worked in various hospitals in the UK throughout his career including the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and in October 2005 he acquired a Master’s Degree in Human Reproduction and Development from the University of Bristol. From 2008 until 2010 he was a consultant Gynaecologist and hysteroscopy expert in IVF Unit Serum in Athens. There is one other doctor as well as four embryologists. The senior embryologist has 10 years of experience and is ESHRE accredited. There is an international team available for translation and for coordination and most of the team speak English.
The Maternity hospital they are located in has ISO 9001: 2008 for all of its services. ISO 14001: 2004 for environmental management as well as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) (ISO 22000:2005) for Catering Services.

Success Rates 2017
The clinical pregnancy rate for egg donation with two blastocysts was 88% (with one blastocyst it was 65%). This is a cumulative success rate and is based on 1 cycle of fresh eggs followed by 1-2 cycles of embryos frozen from the first cycle.
The clinical pregnancy rate for IVF using own eggs (overall) was 43%. For over 40 years old it was 18%.
For IVF using own eggs and donor sperm it was 46%.
The clinical pregnancy rate for embryo donation was 80%.
The preferred stage of embryo transfer is blastocyst. In 2016 the multiple birth rate was 10%. They transfer on average two embryos per cycle.

IVF Treatment Costs at Ovum Fertility Matters
The advertised cost of egg donation treatment is 6600 Euros. Included in this price are donor monitoring and stimulation, ICSI, blastocyst transfer, time-lapse embryo monitoring and freezing of surplus embryos. Sperm freezing costs 150 Euros. The first consultation by Skype or telephone is free.
The advertised cost of IVF using own eggs is 4500 Euros. Included in this price is sedation and egg collection, IVF, ICSI or IMSI, blastocyst culture, assisted hatching, time-lapse monitoring of embryos, free consultations and free scans whilst in Greece.
There is no egg sharing option in this clinic.
