Trianglen Fertility Clinic is a private Danish clinic. It was established in 1993 by Consultant, MD, DMSci. Jørgen Grinsted, and is one of the oldest fertility clinics in Denmark. Since then, the clinic has evolved to be one of the largest fertility clinics in the country. In 2019 at Trianglen, doctors performed 2,026 IUI cycles, 1,224 IVF cycles with own eggs and 694 frozen embryo transfers. In 2019 the doctors at the clinic have done 90 egg donation cycles and each year they contribute to approx. 500 successful IVF births. Trianglen collaborates with fertility specialists in other countries, especially Sweden.
The clinic is situated in an architect-designed building from 1908. It features one IVF laboratory and one large recovery room with six private beds and curtains for privacy (as seen in the video below).
The clinic’s priority is the patients’ comfort – that is why they offer pain-free oocyte pick-up. The available nurse anesthetists take care of the medication and pain relief during the egg collection. A combination of local anaesthetic injection in the top of the vagina and small but frequent intravenous injections of a potent morphine-like medicine are used in the procedure. That is why the patients of Trianglen have reported a very high level of satisfaction with the oocyte pick-up. After the procedure, patients can rest in the clinic for about one hour before they can go home.
The Medical Director is Kåre Rygaard, MD. Kåre is a specialist in gynecology, and obstetrics and has worked at Trianglen since 2001. He has been head of the clinic since 2011. Kåre has many years of experience with fertility treatment from Rigshospitalet and Herlev Hospital. He has previously researched genetic changes in cancer cells and in 1993 wrote his doctoral dissertation on this topic.
The clinic employs seven doctors excluding the medical director and seven embryologists. The senior embryologist has 22 years of experience in the fertility field and is ESHRE accredited.
The clinic’s staff speak English fluently.
Moreover, the clinic’s specialist practice is accredited according to the Danish Quality Model and the tissue center is approved under the EU Tissue Directive.
Trianglen Fertility Clinic Treatments
The clinic offers the following treatments to patients:
- egg donation,
- Assisted Hatching,
- embryo/egg freezing.
It is possible to be treated with donor sperm, however, the clinic does not have their own sperm bank.
Treatment for single women
In Denmark, single ladies can legally undergo IVF with own or donor eggs and donor sperm. Trianglen accepts single women and lesbian couples for IVF treatment with donor sperm. Female patients can undergo insemination (IUI-D) without or with a mild hormone stimulation. Many women become pregnant thanks to this easy treatment. In the case of women for whom the insemination treatment has not resulted in pregnancy after 3-6 attempts, the clinic recommends IVF with donor sperm.
Patients can choose from the following sperm donors:
- with extended profile
- known donors.
