Turkey is bordered by eight countries and has a population of around 80 million. The capital is Ankara but the largest city is Istanbul. The country has a rich cultural heritage and is a very popular tourist destination and in fact was the sixth most popular place to visit in the world in 2013. Many people come to be immersed in the cultural aspects but many more are attracted to the beaches and climate of the coastal regions.
