The fertility clinic UR Vistahermosa is located in Alicante in Spain. This is a private clinic that was opened in 1983 and so has been established for a number of years.
UR Vistahermosa is a relatively busy IVF clinic. In 2021, 51% of treatment cycles performed at the clinic were donor egg cycles and 49% were IVF cycles with own eggs. The clinic is located within the HLA Vistahermosa hospital which means that it has access to a wide range of departments and specialties if required including its own Genetics Unit. Medical Team at UR Vistahermosa
The clinic director is Dr. López Gálvez. He is the director of the Specialist University Course on Human Reproductive Biology at Universidad Miguel Hernández in Alicante. He is involved in research and presents articles and publications at various conferences on assisted reproduction. At the clinic, there are also 6 doctors (except the medical director) and 7 embryologists of which 3 are senior embryologists and are ESHRE accredited.

There is an International Department that helps patients from abroad with advice on accommodation, travel and cost of all treatments. They can get in touch with your own gynaecologist before you come to Spain to coordinate your treatment.

IVF with Own Eggs
The advertised cost of IVF using own eggs with Embryoscope/Geri® and ISCI is €4,900 Euros. Included in this price is:
- Monitoring: ovulation induction (ultrasound scan, analysis and monitoring controls)
- Egg collection with an ultrasound scan in theatre
- Sperm preparation and ICSI
- Egg, sperm and embryo culture. Free EmbryoGlue.
- Assisted Hatching with or without fragments removal
- Blastocyst stage embryo transfer (if possible)
- Stay in a hospital suite on the night of egg collection.
PGT-A testing is available at the cost of €3,650 per cycle. If you wish to have your own egg embryos tested, you can also choose the PGT-A testing in a package for €7,650.
IVF with Donor Eggs
If you are looking for egg donation treatment with fresh eggs, the cost at Vistahermosa is €7,150. For egg donation (fresh) with PGT-A using NGS technology, you will pay €10,450. In the case of frozen donor eggs, the egg donation cycle (frozen) costs €5,900. If you need donor sperm, the price is €400. Included in this price is
- all donor costs: interviews and screening, matching, medication and monitoring,
- endometrial scratch (if needed),
- basic sperm analysis,
- egg collection and culture of embryos,

There is a donor pool with over 500 donors and there is no waiting list for treatment. Sperm freezing and culture to blastocyst are free services within your package. The cost of freezing surplus embryos is €520. If you wish to book the first consultation, the cost is only €80 for an online (Zoom/Skype) consultation with a doctor and a member of the International Patient Care Team.
ROPA (reciprocal IVF) – Shared Motherhood
Lesbian couples interested in ROPA (reciprocal IVF), can undergo the process for €5,300.
The clinic also offers embryo donation at the price of €3,550. The donated embryos are blastocyst embryos from couples who had been successful before and decided to donate their embryos to other couples in need. You can also choose euploid embryos which were donated by couples who had been successful and had PGT (preimplantation genetic testing) done. This means these embryos are genetically normal and the implantation rate is much higher.
Social Freezing
If you are over 30 and thinking about preserving your fertility for the future, you can take advantage of egg preservation (egg retrieval) – this will cost you €4,900, and you can pay in two installments. The cost of a frozen embryo transfer is €1,200.
UR Vistahermosa also has Embryoscope and the latest specialised incubator called Geri® which is an incubator with an integrated time-lapse camera system. It contains six cameras, one in each chamber, with 11 focal planes for the collection of accurate images of the embryos during their development. This eliminates the need to move the embryos around the incubator during analysis.
The Embryoscope and Geri® cost €350 extra. The cost for the sperm selection MACS technique is €325.

UR Vistahermosa Success Rates 2021
The egg donation clinical pregnancy rate in 2021 was 72%. The overall IVF with own eggs clinical pregnancy rate was 49%.
The IVF with own eggs clinical pregnancy success rates as per patient’s age were
- women under 35 years of age – 61%
- women between 35-40 – 38%
- women above 40 years of age – 14%.
The frozen embryo clinical pregnancy success rate was 52% and the embryo donation clinical pregnancy rate was 68%.
The clinic reports the results to the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF).
They prefer blastocyst transfer on day 5. All egg donation embryo transfers are blastocyst transfers. The multiple pregnancy rate was 14% in 2021 with an average of 1.8 embryos transferred per embryo transfer.
