About Clayo Clinic
Founded in 2023, by Dr. Daniel Hlinka, PhD, Clayo Clinic is a family-run, independent fertility centre built on decades of expertise. Dr. Hlinka, a pioneer in human embryology in the former Czechoslovakia, performed the country’s first ICSI fertilisation in 1993. Since then, his work has contributed to the birth of more than 5,000 children and shaped modern fertility practices across Europe.
As CEO, ESHRE Senior Embryologist, and Head of Laboratory, Dr. Hlinka continues to lead the clinic with a personal commitment to innovation and care. His techniques—including the development of Optim ICSI—have become widely adopted in leading IVF clinics and continue to advance success rates for patients.

Medical Team at Clayo Clinic
At Clayo Clinic, your path to becoming a parent is guided by Dr. Daniel Hlinka, a trailblazer in the field of embryology. As the founder, CEO, and Head of Laboratory, Dr. Hlinka plays an active role in each patient’s treatment. With his credentials as an ESHRE-certified Senior Embryologist, he personally oversees embryo development to maintain the clinic’s commitment to excellence and precision.

Advanced Embryo Monitoring with the Geri® Embryoscope
A key figure in Czech reproductive medicine, Dr. Hlinka made history in 1993 when he successfully carried out the first ICSI procedure in the country—an advanced method where a carefully selected sperm is injected directly into the egg. Building on this breakthrough, he later developed Optim ICSI, a unique technique that helps identify the optimal moment of egg maturity, significantly improving the chances of creating viable, high-quality embryos.
“More than two decades ago, I committed to fighting for every embryo—and that remains my mission today.” Dr. Daniel Hlinka
In 2010, Dr. Hlinka was among the first specialists worldwide to integrate Time-lapse System (TLS) monitoring into clinical practice. This innovation allows embryos to grow in a stable environment while being continuously observed. By capturing developmental milestones without disturbance, TLS offers deeper insights and supports more accurate embryo selection for better pregnancy outcomes.
A Personal IVF Success Story
Dr. Hlinka’s work later became personally meaningful. After facing his own fertility struggles, he and his wife Zuzana underwent ICSI treatment. In 2006, they welcomed their twins, Nikol and Samuel—an experience that deepened their empathy and passion for helping others achieve the dream of parenthood.
