Clinic EGV is located in the very centre of the capital of Latvia — Riga, at Lacplesa Street 38. EGV Clinic was established in 1998. In 2018 more than 750 treatment cycles were performed in the clinic. The majority of EGV’s patients undergo IVF treatment with own eggs (in 2019, 80% of cycles were performed with patients’ own genetic material). The remaining 20% of cycles were egg donation cycles.
Clinic EGV is located on the 5th floor of a health centre building. It has one IVF laboratory and one operating theatre. There are 4 single recovery rooms with an extra bed for the partner. The clinic’s interior has a calming design. Everything is green and relaxing, the doctors are wearing pastel green coats and patients can feel cozy and welcome.

There are 26 doctors at the clinic (excluding the medical director) and 3 embryologists with 30+ experience in the field and ESHRE accredited. The clinic’s staff speak English fluently and an interpreter can be arranged for other languages.
Dr. Zane Vitina is the Medical Director at the clinic. She graduated from the Medical Academy of Latvia/Riga Stradins University, Faculty of Medicine (2002 and 2007 after post-graduate residency training acquired a qualification in gynecology and obstetrics). She was also awarded a certificate in gynecological and fetal ultrasonography in addition to primary qualification (re-certified in 2012).
Dr. Zane Vitina has also acquired her education and experience from the University of Uppsala (Uppsala Universitet), Sweden, and from the University of Roskilde (Roskilde Universitet) Hospital, Denmark. At the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, UK, dr. Vitina was gaining experience in infertile couple treatment and extra-corporal fertilization, and, also, in methods of in-depth fetal ultrasonography examination.
Dr. Zane Vitina is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and a member of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE).

Egg donation
The cost of IVF with donor eggs at Clinic EGV is EUR 6,310. The program includes:
- examination of the donor and preparation for ovarian puncture,
- anesthesia,
- egg collection,
- fertilization with PICSI method,
- embryos culture up to the 3rd day in the special environment (culture medium of hyaluronate),
- embryo transfer with the assistance of embryo implantation promoting the environment,
- comfortable chamber in the day patient department for up to 2 hours.
The first consultation at the clinic costs EUR 90 and it is not deductible from the cost of treatment. If you need any additional procedures, the costs are as follows: extended culture to blastocyst EUR 440, sperm freezing EUR 310, embryoscope EUR 400, vitrification EUR 520. The cost of frozen embryo transfer is EUR 1,040.
IVF with own eggs
For IVF treatment with own eggs the cost is EUR 2,200. What is included in the IVF program?

Clinic EGV Success Rates 2019
The egg donation clinical rate reported by the clinic is 70% while the IVF (with own eggs) clinical rate overall is 50%. The IVF clinical pregnancy rate for different recipient age looks as follows:
- under 35 years of age – 61%
- 35-40 years old – 53%
- over 40 years old – 26%.
If you are interested in frozen embryo transfer, the frozen embryo clinical pregnancy rate is 51%. In the case of embryo donation, the clinical pregnancy rate was 42%.
At Clinic EGV the doctors recommend transferring the embryo at the blastocyst stage. The average number of embryos transferred is 1.2 so the multiple birth rate at the clinic is only 3%.
