Dr Federica Moffa MD, PhD

The clinic is led by Dr Federica Moffa MD, PhD, Medical Director, gynecologist, and reproductive medicine specialist, who has 26 years of experience and more than 25 years dedicated to human reproduction. Dr Federica Moffa holds a PhD in Clinical Sciences from the University of Turin, a specialization degree in Gynecology and Obstetrics (CUM LAUDE) from the University of Turin, and a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the University of Turin.

With nearly 20 scientific publications in her career, Dr Moffa is one of the most prominent specialists in assisted reproduction in Europe. Throughout her career, she has undertaken various research projects with the University of Turin in Italy, the New York University (NYU) in USA, the Ben-Gurion University and the Weizmann Institute in Israel, and the Carl von Linné Clinic in Sweden, among others. Dr Moffa speaks English, Italian, French, and Spanish and sees patients as part of the clinical team.

Another senior doctor, Dr Fulvia Mancini MD, PhD, also has 26 years of experience and speaks English, Italian, French, Spanish, and German.

Dr Fulvia Mancini MD, PhD

Dr Judit Guix is a gynecologist specialized in fertility and assisted reproduction at Fertilab Barcelona. She supports patients through diagnosis and treatment with a careful, evidence-based and patient-centered approach. Her medical experience includes over 5 years in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Assisted Human Reproduction. She completed her residency at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, where she gained strong clinical experience in women’s health and reproductive medicine.

Dr Guix has particular expertise in fertility assessment, ovarian stimulation, embryo transfer and personalized treatment planning. She also has international clinical experience, including training at the Fertility Clinic of Hôpital Erasme in Brussels. Dr Guix is especially interested in reproductive endocrinology, fertility preservation, IVF and assisted reproductive technologies, egg donation treatment, and benign gynecological conditions that may affect fertility.

Fertilab Barcelona Success Rates

Fertilab Barcelona reports strong treatment results across several IVF options. For IVF with own eggs, Fertilab Barcelona reports the following clinical pregnancy rates per fresh single embryo transfer in 2024:

• 83.3% for patients under 35,
• 58.8% for patients aged 35 to 40,
• 25% for patients over 40.

In 2024, for single embryo transfer in fresh donor egg cycles, the clinical pregnancy rate was 62.4%, and the same 62.4% was reported for frozen donor egg transfers.

The clinical pregnancy rate for frozen embryo transfer (FET) was 60.8%, while embryo donation treatment showed a 44.4% clinical pregnancy rate.

The multiple birth rate (twins, triplets. etc.) in 2024 was only 1%.

Overall, in 2025, Fertilab reported a 62.5% clinical pregnancy rate on the first embryo transfer in egg donation cycles, increasing to 64% on the first transfer with PGT-A.

Fertilab Barcelona Location

Fertilab Barcelona is located in Sarrià–Tres Torres, a quiet and well-connected area of the city that is easy to reach both from the airport and from central Barcelona. From Barcelona–El Prat Airport, the journey usually takes around 20–30 minutes by taxi or private car, depending on traffic. By public transport, it normally takes about 45–55 minutes using a combination of Aerobús or train with metro or bus connections.

The clinic can also be reached easily from other parts of Barcelona thanks to nearby bus, metro, and train links. For patients arriving by car, the area has convenient access from Avinguda Diagonal and nearby parking options.
