Ventus IVF Centre is a private fertility clinic in Nicosia, North Cyprus, opened in March 2024. Despite being a new facility, the medical team entered its first year with substantial clinical experience. During 2024 the clinic carried out 192 treatment cycles, including 110 egg-donation cycles and 82 IVF cycles using patients’ own eggs. This volume of activity shows that the centre quickly became an active provider of fertility treatment for both local and international patients.

The clinic treats single women and accepts patients up to the age of 55 for both own-egg and donor-egg programmes. There are no marital status restrictions. Female same-sex couples are welcome, including those pursuing treatment through the ROPA method. The clinic also accepts patients living with HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C when the viral load remains undetectable and the condition is medically managed.

Genetic embryo testing, including PGT-A screening, forms part of the clinic’s treatment planning when appropriate. In certain cases the technology is also used for family balancing. International patients can meet the medical team either through online consultations or in person at the clinic in Nicosia.

Ventus IVF Centre became the first IVF clinic in Cyprus to receive accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The clinic also operates the first laboratory in the country designed to eliminate exposure to volatile organic compounds. In IVF laboratories, volatile organic compounds are chemical substances released into the air from common materials such as paints, adhesives, plastics, cleaning agents, or construction elements. Even small concentrations may interfere with the highly sensitive environment required for fertilisation and embryo culture.

The laboratory at Ventus IVF Centre was designed to minimise this risk. Construction materials were selected for low chemical emissions, and specialised air filtration systems continuously remove airborne contaminants. As a result, your eggs, sperm, and embryos are handled in a stable laboratory environment with tightly controlled air quality during the earliest stages of development.

The clinic also provides full accessibility for patients with mobility needs and offers free parking directly on site. Treatment takes place in a modern clinical environment designed for comfort and privacy. The facility includes:

    • one fully equipped IVF laboratory
    • one operating theatre
    • five recovery rooms for patients after procedures

Each element of the clinic’s design supports a safe and comfortable treatment experience.

Egg and Sperm Donors at Ventus IVF Centre

    Egg Donation

Egg donors are matched to each patient based on physical characteristics and patient preferences. Donors remain anonymous in accordance with local regulations. Patients receive non-identifying information that helps create a close physical match, including:

    • hair colour
    • eye colour
    • height
    • basic physical features

This process helps ensure that the donor resembles the intended parent as closely as possible.

    Sperm Donation

Sperm samples used at the clinic come from established sperm banks in Denmark. Patients can review donor profiles before treatment. These profiles include non-identifying information about the donor, allowing patients to choose a donor with characteristics they feel comfortable with.

    Additional Services and Laboratory Technologies

Some services are included in the treatment price, while others may be recommended depending on the clinical situation.

    Consultations and fertility preservation

    • Medical consultations with a doctor: free of charge
    • Donor sperm: €500–€2,000 depending on the sperm bank
    • Sperm freezing: €500

    Embryo Monitoring and Genetic Testing

Advanced embryo monitoring is already included in the treatment price. The laboratory uses time-lapse embryo monitoring systems such as Embryoscope, which allow embryologists to observe embryo development continuously without removing embryos from the incubator. Genetic embryo testing is also available:

    • PGT-A / PGS testing: €3,000 for up to five embryos
    • Additional embryos tested: €400 each

These tests analyse the number of chromosomes in embryos and may help doctors select embryos with a higher chance of implantation.

    Embryo Freezing and Storage

Embryos that are not transferred immediately can be frozen and stored for future treatment.

    • Embryo freezing and first year of storage: €500
    • Continued embryo storage: €250 per year
    • Frozen embryo transfer (FET): €2,000

Frozen embryo transfer allows patients to attempt pregnancy without repeating the ovarian stimulation and egg collection process.

    PRP Treatment

The clinic also offers PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy in selected cases. PRP treatment uses components from the patient’s own blood and may be recommended to support ovarian or endometrial function. Typical prices include:

    • PRP for ovarian rejuvenation: €2,000
    • PRP for endometrial support: €500

Doctors may suggest this option for patients with low ovarian reserve or thin endometrial lining.

    Advanced Laboratory Technologies

The embryology laboratory uses several technologies designed to support embryo selection and fertilisation. These include:

    • sperm selection methods such as the sperm chip, which helps identify sperm with better DNA quality
    • artificial intelligence tools that assist embryologists in analysing sperm quality
    • AI-supported evaluation of oocytes and embryo development

These technologies support embryologists during treatment by providing additional data that helps guide laboratory decisions.

IVF Success Rates at Ventus IVF Centre

Ventus IVF Centre reports its results per embryo transfer, rather than combining outcomes from multiple treatment attempts. This method shows the probability of pregnancy from a single procedure.

In 2024, the clinical pregnancy rate for egg donation treatment reached 72.3% per embryo transfer. When donor eggs were used fresh, the pregnancy rate was 74.5%, while cycles using frozen donor eggs resulted in a 70% pregnancy rate.

For IVF treatment with patients’ own eggs, results varied according to age:

    • Women under 35: 76.5% pregnancy rate per embryo transfer
    • Women aged 35–40: 62.5%
    • Women over 40: 50%

The pregnancy rate for frozen embryo transfer (FET) was 71.1%, and embryo donation treatment resulted in a pregnancy rate of 80% per transfer.

Most embryo transfers at the clinic are performed at the Day 5 blastocyst stage, which allows embryologists to select embryos that have demonstrated stable development in the laboratory. In 2024, an average of 1.4 embryos were transferred per procedure. The multiple pregnancy rate was 14.3%, and all multiple pregnancies were twin pregnancies.

These figures represent the outcome of a single embryo transfer and provide a clear reference point for patients comparing treatment results.

Dr Beril Yuksel PhD, Medical Director

A Message from the Medical Director

“At Ventus IVF Centre, we built the clinic around one simple goal: to give every embryo the safest possible laboratory environment and every patient a clear, medically sound treatment plan.

Our embryology laboratory was designed to eliminate exposure to volatile organic compounds. Materials that release chemical particles into the air are excluded from the laboratory environment, and specialised filtration systems maintain stable air quality. Eggs, sperm, and embryos are handled in carefully controlled conditions during the earliest and most sensitive stages of development.

Ventus IVF Centre is the first fertility clinic in Cyprus to receive accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This accreditation reflects strict international standards for laboratory quality, safety, and quality control.

Technology also plays an important role in how we work. Artificial intelligence tools support our embryologists in analysing sperm quality, assessing oocytes, and monitoring embryo development. These systems provide additional data that help specialists make more precise laboratory decisions during treatment.

Our patients also have access to the full range of genetic embryo testing options, including PGT-A and PGT-P. These tests analyse embryos for chromosomal abnormalities and certain inherited genetic conditions, allowing the medical team to select embryos with the best potential for a healthy pregnancy.

We care for patients from many different backgrounds and family situations. Our donor programmes include egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo donation, supported by structured matching processes and international sperm banks.

Every treatment plan is prepared individually. We review medical history, previous fertility treatments, hormone results, and diagnostic findings before recommending a treatment strategy.

Fertility treatment requires trust. For that reason we prioritise clear communication with our patients, transparent information about treatment options, and responsible medical decision-making at every stage of the process.”

International Patients at Ventus IVF Centre

In 2024, most patients treated at Ventus IVF Centre came from Turkey, accounting for approximately 65% of all treatment cycles. The remaining 35% of patients travelled from other countries, mainly Georgia, the United Kingdom, and France. This mix of local and international patients reflects the clinic’s growing role as a destination for fertility treatment in the region, particularly for patients seeking IVF and donor programmes abroad.

    Clinic Location and Travel Information

Ventus IVF Centre is located in Nicosia (Lefkoşa), North Cyprus, at Bedrettin Demirel Cd 96, Lefkoşa 99010, and is easily accessible from the island’s two main airports.

Patients travelling from Ercan Airport can reach the clinic in approximately 40 minutes by taxi, while the journey from Larnaca Airport typically takes around one hour. To make travel easier for international patients, the clinic can organise airport transfers, which cost approximately €50 from Ercan Airport and €110 from Larnaca Airport.

The patient coordination team can also assist with local accommodation arrangements and recommend nearby hotels, helping patients organise their stay in Nicosia as smoothly as possible.
