Understanding the Drivers Behind Fertility Tourism in the UK 2017
You may remember that we and Fertility Network UK were undertaking joint research to understand what is driving people from the UK to seek IVF treatment abroad. We launched a survey last year which a great many of you completed and for that we are very grateful. The results were very interesting and definitely provided insight into why people are going overseas for treatment. It was certainly worth doing.
A great many of you would consider going abroad for treatment, and indeed many of you have gone. Overall the responses demonstrate that it was a very positive experience for most of you. You have travelled all over the world for fertility treatment with the most popular countries being Spain, Greece and the Czech Republic. And it appears that the cost of private fertility treatment in the UK is what is making you consider travelling abroad, despite there being some disadvantages to doing so.
